Description
Direct Drive Remote reading dial thermometers for wall or flush mounting: 60B series is for wall mount while 60C series is for flush mount. Palmer Dial thermometers are engineered to provide a long service life with an extremely durable thermal system.
Direct drive double wound bourdon coil means the pointer shaft operates directly from the center coil, eliminating the conventional sector and pinion type movement and the multiplying mechanism that is subject to wear and tear and the resulting inaccuracy. This unique feature results in a temperature indicator that is extremely responsive to temperature changes.
Thermal systems are actuated by Mercury or liquid. Liquid actuated systems are filled with a non-toxic, odorless, organic, and non-flammable liquid up to 500°F. It is non-hazardous and environmentally friendly with no hydrogens, and proven to be an excellent substitute for Mercury. For temperature ranges over 500°F Mercury is used in an all stainless steel, welded system with direct drive coil. Responding to even slight changes, this provides the most accurate temperature reading possible.
Mercury actuated systems use 51 Series Bulbs. Liquid actuated systems use 81 Series Bulbs.
NIST Calibration is available for these units, sold separately.
Mercury is restricted for use in some locations. Learn More.
