Our History

Palmer Wahl Instruments, Inc. is a family owned and operated manufacturer of temperature and pressure instruments for industrial applications around the world.  We help our customers monitor and improve their products by finding and creating measurement solutions for their unique process issues.

Palmer Wahl Instruments, Inc. is the successor to two separate, innovative temperature measurement companies.  Palmer Instruments, Inc. founded in Cincinnati in 1836 as the first thermometer company in America, and Wahl Instruments, Inc., founded in Culver City, CA in 1953 to supply precision temperature instruments to industry.  The companies combined to found Palmer Wahl Instruments, Inc. in Asheville, NC.
